How To Find Human Resource Jobs

Almost every company, industry, and small business in the United States contains some form of human resource job. So when you're looking for HR jobs, keep your eyes and ears open at all times! The perfect job for you may only be a click or a handshake away.

Go internal. Many large companies hire HR employees from within their own ranks, because current employees are already familiar with company policy and management. So if you're not happy in your current position and are looking to break into HR, consider seeing if your own HR department is hiring.

Use online social networks. Team up with fellow HR staff online, and network with company HR managers through Facebook, blog pages, and LinkedIn. Sometimes, those online contacts will help you find a great real-life job, so maintain a professional and courteous online presence at all times.

Find an internship. When you're starting out, it seems like everybody wants you to have experience, but nobody will hire you so you can gain that experience. HR internships can be a good solution to this dilemma, and are sometimes easier to find than paid positions. Fortune 500 companies and other big-name businesses hire their HR staff selectively, and having an internship on your resume shows that you are in it for the long haul.

Don't forget the classifieds! The classified sections of your local and regional newspapers are among the best places to find HR jobs. Make a habit of sitting down with area newspapers on a weekly basis. Grab a cup of coffee and a red pen for some old-fashioned job hunting in addition to your high-tech online efforts.
